Gyros: A Major Key

They don’t want you to eat ridiculously good food that’s as great for your body as it is for your tastebuds. Stay away from them. College Chefs overcomes. If you’re a fan of the popular app Snapchat, you’ve probably viewed to DJ Khaled’s famously inspirational account, where he dishes the inside secrets of success. Now, I’m not saying he explicitly said Gyros made by College Chef’s Chef Matthew are a major key to success, but I’m also not saying he didn’t say that. Regardless of DJ Khaled’s opinions of our gyros, anyone with tastebuds can confirm, they’re a major key.

The Chefs at the University of Florida recently had the chance to to branch outside of their regular fraternity meal plans. The Interfraternity Council at the University of Florida hosted its annual philanthropy Chicken Wing Charity Thing.  College Chefs was able to participate through several of the chapters it serves.

Chef Paul Hyman - Area Manager

Chef Paul Hyman's start in the food industry was a little shaky. “I was a horrible bus boy,” he said, explaining the time he spilled cake and coffee all over an elderly woman dining at the restaurant. Instead of firing him, the restaurant owner, who was luckily a family friend, moved him from dishwasher. From there he began to climb the ranks of the food world, from dishwasher to executive chef to his current position with College Chefs.

Chef Eric Inscho - Area Manager

An artist by nature, Chef Eric Inscho satisfies his creative yearnings by creating culinary masterpieces. While he formally went to school for illustration, the culinary world is second nature to him. “I’ve worked in restaurants since I was about sixteen,” he details. When he was a kid, both of his parents went back to school. So, Chef Eric was left to his own devices to experiment in the kitchen, cooking for himself.

Chef John Cagle - Regional Director

Chef John Cagle - Regional Director

The series of events that lead John Cagle to become a chef are certainly unexpected. But, he discovered his passion for cooking in a romantic, fit for a Hollywood movie location, France. He grew up in a very small town in Central Illinois and continued his education at Eastern Illinois University, also located in Central Illinois, graduating with English and French degrees. After college, he accepted an assistantship to teach in France, where he lived for the next four years. The exposure to various foods in France was unlike anything he had experienced before. This inspired him to move back to the states and pursue a culinary degree at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.

Chef Logan Richmond - Area Manager

In the world of fraternities & sororities, when you think of “college kid” food, what typically comes to mind? Something like hot dogs? Maybe corndogs? Chef Logan does just that!  But he does it the right way and with a twist!

“What?!” you say, “where’s the ridiculously good food College Chefs promotes?” Exactly. Chef Logan is known for his fantastically reimagined corndogs, like a lobster corndog with green chili, made from scratch of course. He even credits gourmet hotdogs as one of “the next big things.”  Chef Logan bolsters College Chefs mission of creating killer and familiar food with a twist -- catering to the tastes of the fraternity men and sorority women.
As a trained Chef and Area Manager, he helps support College Chefs clients and chefs nationwide.

Meet Chef Eric Pebley - Alpha Chi Omega at Washington State University

Chef Eric discovered his love of cooking very early when he was about six years old baking cookies with his mom. Still, he never dreamed he would become a chef, especially be cause he was “the pickiest eater” until he was about eighteen years old. Life has a funny way of always working out, today he is passionate about his career and the women of the Alpha Chi Omega at Washington State are a direct beneficiary.
