Chef Chris Feaster, Kappa Sigma at Missouri S&T

Chef Chris Feaster, Kappa Sigma at Missouri S&T

“Food is a daily adventure and I’ll be learning until the day I die” - Chris Feaster

Coming from a family well versed in cooking, a then, little Chef Chris Feaster followed closely to his mother and grandparents passion for food and cooking.

Thirteen and still in high school, It wasn’t too long before Chris graduated from his family's kitchen into a fully equipt kitchen working and preparing deli style food for a local deli in South Carolina.

Continuing his craft and passion for food and cooking, Chris worked most of his high school years in the kitchens of high end seafood joints where he worked and shadowed under an array of culinary professionals and chefs.

There was no doubt that since the beginning Chris knew ultimately what he was destined to do, from the memories of his grandfather's favorite homemade smoked sausage, to getting the opportunity to be involved in the culinary world at a young age, to being on the road as a musician for five years, all developed who chef Chris Feaster, chef for the gentlemen of Kappa Sigma at Missouri S&T, is today.

“I like to call myself a food monster, I like to experiment, like to be creative, most of all I love to make people smile, I consider what I do an act of service and its an act of service I love” -Chris Feaster

Keep reading!!! It gets better.

Meet Chef Arnaldo and Crew -- The Team Making Waves At The Alpha Delta Pi House at the University of Illinois

Meet Chef Arnaldo and Crew -- The Team Making Waves At The Alpha Delta Pi House at the University of Illinois

The sisters of #AlphaDeltaPi at the #UniversityOfIllinois may never go out to eat ever again (may be exaggerating just a little) as long as Chef Arnaldo and his fine team of creative minds are in the kitchen working up fine-dining-quality food for the lucky women of the chapter.

What's all the hype about? How about homemade sushi prepared by a skilled trade artisan or Fresh baked breads served almost daily, or how about tender pork loin smothered in exotic spices and herbs. Is your mouth watering yet?

Read on for a very brief blog about Chef Arnaldo and his crew!

Thanks, -Tiffany Square

Improve Your Food Selfies

Improve Your Food Selfies

If I have not had the chance to introduce myself, here's my chance. I'm Tiffany Square, most of our chefs/employees know me as the HR assistant but I also write these blogs and I am the one responsible for posting College Chefs' food pictures onto our social media.

The reason that it looks like we have the best food in the fraternity & sorority catering business is because we do!  Most fraternity & sorority kitchens don't have a photo studio in them so we make best with what we have!

On a daily basis I receive dozens of pictures which are then reviewed, cropped, & selected for our social media. The process that I have created for myself allows me to quickly review each photo and select the most appropriate.

There're several key qualities I look for in finding the "winning picture". Some of those qualities include lighting, angle, presentation, and overall creativity.

While I am thankful and appreciative to all of our chefs and sous chefs who take the time to snap pics and send them to me, I have helpful information that can improve food "selfies".

Hope you find this blog helpful.

Chef Gary Klein, Sigma Phi Epsilon @ UNC

I had the chance to catch up with Chef Gary Klein over at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of North Carolina. Gary and I had an absolute blast digging into his cooking experiences, funny stories on life, and him being in a metal rock band.

Now situated in North Carolina cooking for 50+ young fraternity brothers at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house in beautiful Chapel Hill North Carolina, the next step for Gary is to become a Master Chef and he is holding himself to it.
