At College Chefs, we get that not every Greek can eat every food in the book. Because some students may have a gluten allergy or celiac disease, we are happy to accommodate them with gluten-free options. We can also create delicious dairy-free, nut-free, and any other allergy-free food your chapter may require.
A member of Delta Zeta at Purdue University sent this tweet to College Chefs showing her appreciation for a gluten-free treat: "Shout out to DZ Chef Brittney for making Gluten Free cupcakes for those of us who are gluten challenged." Thanks for the shout out!
The fact is, we don't want any of our Greeks to feel left out when it comes to all the great food College Chefs has to offer!
As the weather gets warmer, and we hope it will, here's a great gluten-free smoothie recipe we found.
Strawberry Coconut Smoothie
makes 1 large serving or 2 small
1 cup fresh organic strawberries, hulled
1 frozen organic banana
3/4 cup organic coconut milk, canned (light or full fat)*
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 cup ice cold cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Unsweetened shredded coconut for sprinkling on top
Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
*Note – Look for a non-BPA containing canned coconut milk, if you can.
